Good design is both functional and aesthetic.
I deeply value this principle and it shows in my work.
I was introduced to computer programming during high school where I took several Computer Science courses. Those courses were: BASIC, C/C++, and Java. Going into them, I had no idea what to expect or where it would take me.
It wasn’t long until I was mesmerized by the sheer power that programming yields. Immediately, I was excited to work on any project that involved programming. My first projects were text-adventure games and RPG combat systems. The experience gained from those fun projects led me to choose Computer Science as my major in college.
In 2011, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. A few weeks after graduation, I landed my first job in web development. Ever since, I’ve been fascinated by it.
I find web development very gratifying because it taps into skills from many disciplines in design, programming, databases, networking, marketing, content strategy, and the list goes on and on. That’s why I like doing what I do —there is never a dull moment because there are tons of skills and languages to learn and new trends to study and research.
Currently, I work full-time as a Lead Frontend Engineer at a design agency called Envoy in Irvine, CA.
